Believe it or not, another year is in the books. Maybe you’ve reflected on what went well for you personally in 2022. Maybe you haven’t. But one way or the other, The Classic W appreciates your taking a few minutes to join us as we reflect on our online magazine’s highlights over the past year.
Below are the most-read articles we published in 2022:
1. From Hair to There: A Syndergaard Story
In 2022, poetry contributor Jason Davis continued his series of compositions about pitcher Noah Syndergaard and his hair. In seven stanzas, the poem recalls the grandeur of the “flowing mane” and Syndergaard’s Mets heroics, and seems to bid it farewell as the pitcher and his hair moved to Los Angeles for the 2022 baseball season.
2. Publications that Exist: Tunnel Business Magazine
One day before Colorado’s famed Eisenhower-Edwin C. Johnson Memorial Tunnel turned 48 years old, we published a piece by erstwhile contributor (now contributing editor) Audrey Chaddick on Tunnel Business Magazine, one of the tunnel industry’s most important news sources.
3. Word Wars: BlackBerry vs. iPhone
Comparing BlackBerry devices and iPhones in 2022 (and, a fortiori, 2023) is pretty boring. But in this installment of “Word Wars,” Chaddick goes back more than a decade to when the two popular handheld devices were direct competitors. The riveting article analyzes the data to determine the inflection point marking the iPhone’s ascendance to its current position as the clear smartphone king.
